1. Agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and MyPDF2MD.com, operated from Kozhikode, Kerala, India ("we", "us"), governing your use of mypdf2md.com and the My PDF 2 MD applications (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does

The Service converts PDF documents into Markdown. Conversion runs entirely within your browser; we do not receive your files.

One optional feature departs from this: for a scanned document, which contains no selectable text, you may ask us to recognise the text on our server. That happens only for a file you explicitly submit for recognition, and is described in the section on optical character recognition below and in our Privacy Policy.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where a change materially reduces functionality you have paid for, we will give reasonable notice.

3. Free tier and limits

The web version is free to use and supported by advertising. It applies limits which we may adjust from time to time, currently a maximum number of converted pages per document, a maximum file size, and a per-conversion time limit. The current values are shown in the interface.

There is no paid tier. The Service is free in full, and no part of it is offered for sale.

4. Your documents and your responsibility

You retain all rights in the documents you convert. We claim no ownership or licence over them. For a document converted in your browser we could not exercise one in any event, because we never receive it; for a document you submit for optical character recognition, we take no rights in it beyond performing the recognition you asked for.

You are responsible for having the legal right to convert any document you use with the Service, including any copyright, confidentiality or data protection obligations attaching to it. You are equally responsible for the converted output and how you use it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to circumvent the free-tier limits or any other technical restriction
• Interfere with the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' access to it
• Resell, sublicense or redistribute the Service without our written permission
• Use automated means to access the Service at a volume that degrades it for others

6. Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email address secure, since sign-in uses emailed links. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms.

7. Conversion accuracy: no warranty

Converting a PDF into structured Markdown requires inferring document structure from visual layout, because a PDF does not record it. This is inherently approximate. Headings may be assigned the wrong level, tables may lose columns, and reading order may be wrong in complex layouts. A scanned document contains no selectable text, so converting it in the browser produces nothing unless you use the optical character recognition described below.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that conversion output will be accurate or complete, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

You must review converted output before relying on it. Do not use it for any purpose where an error would cause loss without checking it against the source document first.

8. Optical character recognition

For a scanned document you may ask us to recognise its text on our server. This is optional, is requested per file, and never happens unless you confirm it. What is sent, where it goes and how long it is kept are set out in our Privacy Policy.

Recognition is a statistical process and its output is an estimate, not a transcription. It misreads characters, particularly in names, numbers, dates and reference codes, and words it cannot read at all are omitted from the result rather than flagged in it. Check recognised text against the original before relying on it. It is not suitable as the sole source for anything financial, legal, medical or otherwise consequential.

The feature does not read handwriting and does not convert mathematical formulae, and it does not extract images. We make no claim that it will, and results on photographed pages, faxes and low-quality scans are materially worse than on clean scans.

Recognition is offered subject to daily page allowances, a per-document page limit and a maximum file size, all of which we may change. It may be slow, queued, or unavailable, and we may suspend it entirely without notice. Nothing in these terms obliges us to provide it.

You must have the right to send us any document you submit for recognition. Do not submit documents containing other people's personal data, confidential information or special category data unless you are entitled to and have a lawful basis for doing so.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or fifty United States dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Consumer rights

If you use the Service as a consumer, you may have statutory rights that these terms cannot override. Nothing here affects those rights.

11. Payments and refunds

The Service takes no payments. We do not sell licences or subscriptions, and no page asks you for payment details.

12. Third-party services

The Service uses third parties for hosting, authentication and advertising. Their handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy and governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, or if required by law. Provisions which by their nature should survive termination will do so, including the warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability.

14. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be signalled on the site before they take effect, and continued use afterwards constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Kozhikode, Kerala have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory protections available to you as a consumer in your country of residence.
